Time Off explores the Donauinsel - Vienna's most popular leisure and recreation area - as a place of retreat where people escape the constraints of urban life, work and consumption, a place of longing for leisure and freedom. Somewhere between the extremes of flooding and local recreation areas, the desire to regulate and tame nature, but at the same time to ecologically intervene in its biotopes, lies the ambivalence of the artificially created Donauinsel. Time Off wants to show whether you can defy regulation in your free time and thus achieve emancipation from the performance society.
